Atami is a beautiful coastal town just south of Tokyo. Atami is well known for its beautiful ocean views and amazing seafood. Atami also has many hot spring(onsen) and lots of different choices for places to stay.
You can access Atami via many different train routes from Tokyo and it is fairly easy to navigate around the area. There are day-tours that are inexpensive but show you around the area, these are especially good if you don’t have a car.
