* During New Year, pairs of Kado-Matsu were placed on both sides of gate of the building in order to welcome the God.
* “Kado” means “gate”, while “Matsu” means “pine trees”. Except for pine trees, Kadomatsu consists of Japanese apricots and bamboo trees, which are also believed to bring about happiness and prosperity.
