再び千葉栄町を歩く　Chiba Sakae-cho again/Japan 2014

In the 1950s, there were 20,000 visitors per day to Chiba Sakae-cho. But now only 2,000.The street is called the shutter street and receives the worries about a serious commercial depression and emasculation.There is a grotesque scene where soapland and an adult entertainment shops are located in a same line of cultural institution called a civic hall. However, if night comes, many bars, adult entertainment shops and the Korean restaurants become cheerfull and there are people’s stream in the town.

1950年代1日の来訪者20,000人と言われた千葉栄町は、いまや2,000人に落ち込み、シャッター街と化した街は深刻な商業不振と空洞化に悩んでいる。市民会館という文化的施設の反対側にソープランドや性風俗店が並ぶ異様さは、昼間の人々を遠ざけて引き込むことがない。しかし夜になると飲み屋街、性風俗店街、韓国料理店街が組み合わされて、人の流れを作っている。
