Here is a drummer playing tribute to those who gave up their lives at this location during World War 2.

During the war, Nagasaki was one of the largest seaports in southern Japan and an important industrial city.

Around 11:01 on August 9, 1945, United States Army Air Forces B-29 bomber Bockscar dropped Fat Man, a 14 pound plutonium nuclear weapon over the city of Nagasaki.

47 seconds later, the bomb exploded over the city and an elevation of 1,650 feet.

The resulting blast generated heat up to 7,050 degrees Fahrenheit and wings up to 624 miles per hour.

It is believed that the number of casualties is between 39,000 to 80,000 with many more dying years later from the effects of radiation.
