Miyajima is a small island in Hiroshima Bay.
There you will find one of Japan’s most famous Itsukushima shine and Tori gate. It is usually partially submerged at high tide and unfortunately our timing was rubbish as when we visited it was going through restoration. We took a cable car to the top of the island which was a great way of taking in this beautiful area. After working up an appetite we took a stroll through the shopping streets and enjoyed some lovely food and a well deserved beer.
