Amanohashidate, located in Miyazu Bay on the Sea of Japan in the northern part of Kyoto Prefecture, is one of the three scenic spots in Japan, along with Mutsu’s “Matsushima” and Aki’s “Miyajima.” The width is about 20-170m and the total length is about 3.6km. It is a sandy beach with a rare terrain with about 5000 pine trees and its shape looks like a bridge over the sky. The name “Amanohashidate” was added.
Many people come to see the mysterious shapes created by nature over the thousands of years.
To enjoy Amanohashidate, not only the view from the observatory, but also the way to enjoy nature such as walking in Amanohashidate, riding a bicycle or boat, or swimming at the beach.
