The traditional New Year meal in Japan is おせち(Osechi), an elaborate bento that was customarily eaten into the first three days in January, as it was seen as bad luck to prepare meals during this period. Each dish represents a particular meaning – the curved body of 海老 (Ebi, or Shrimp), represents long life due to its apparant similarity to an old man’s bent posture. #HappyNewYear #JapaneseCulture #Osechi #shiseido
