Japan is amazing and the snow is the best, the team from Australia had a great time at the 2017 44th International Snow Sculpture Contest at the 68th Sapporo Snow Festival.

from building the 3x3m snow block to the welcome and opening ceremony. Day 1 all the big cuts are made. Day 2 the Snow Sculpture starts to take shape. Day 3 hard work is paying off snow is removed. Day 4 the Snow Sculpture final touches and cleaning up for the judging. Day 5 closing ceremony.

Snow Sculpture Title: Opera-chidna

Snow Sculpture Description: Two Australian icons representing the beauty and uniqueness of the land down under. Australia’s World Heritage Sydney Opera House with its beautiful sail-like structure, famous world-wide and the unique Australian native animal Echida, a special kind of mammal called a monotreme that lays eggs and has a pouch.
