Traveling in the time of COVID can be quite fun🤩 because there are not so many people around anyway!! and you will be mostly outdoors☀️ all the time the beaches are quite huge and you will find a secluded place just for yourself there’s no way to catch any virus! we are taking PEACH airlines because they are the cheapest and they fly from Tokyo’s Narita Airport to Okinawa Naha Airport and there we will make a brief stop, have a Starbucks frappuccino and change the plane. from now on you can also go by boat to kumejima but that boat ride would take 4 hours and a little more than $30 USD but I prefer to take a $80 USD and only 25 minutes flight with a bombardier plane by JAL Airlines (Ryukyu Air). make sure to get stunning photos and videos of Japan’s most beautiful beach HATENOHAMA from your plane’s window you should get front seat for that 2A (?) better ask the staff! a City Bus is waiting outside in front of the Kumejima airport and will do the tour of the island and drop you off at your hotel so after you get your luggage just get out of the airport and walk to the left until you see the blue bus with a sea turtle on it. I’m staying on a smaller Island called Ojima at Hotel Minshuku Amimoto because I love the food there, the dinners are amazing, the rooms are lovely and very very reasonable priced and they are just five minutes walk from the world heritage site Tatami Rocks geological formations that you must see and they also have stunning white sand beach five minutes walk from the hotel room. whenever I stay there I see that the other big Island Kumejima has clouds on it😂 while our small island doesn’t!!! it’s always much more lovely to be on Ojima and the owners of the hotel are wonderful people.
