Applicants from the following 26 territories are exempt from taking the written and driving portion of the driver’s test: Australia, Austria, Belgium, Canada, Czech Republic, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Iceland, Ireland, Italy, Korea, Luxembourg, Monaco, the Netherlands, New Zealand, Norway, Portugal, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, Taiwan and the United Kingdom.
Also, residents from the state of Maryland are exempt. A driver’s license from any other country, including the US, will need to be converted by taking both the written and driving test.
