Today I take another nostalic and historic memory lane road trip. In this episode, I visit two cemeteries, some famous gravesites and Santa Monica College, all in southern California.
GRAVESITES VISITED INCLUDE:
Elzie C Segar, (creator of the Popeye cartoon character), grave at Woodlawn Cemetery, Santa Monica, CA
Samuel “Sammy” Lerner (musician and composed of Popeye the Sailor Man TV theme song), gravesite at Hillside Memorial Park, in Culver City, CA
Jack Benny & Mary Livingston (The Jack Benny Show), crypts at Hillside Memorial Park, Culver City, CA
Ted Bessell, (actor-That Girl tv show), grave at Woodlawn Cemetery, Santa Monica, CA
On this 65th anniversary of his death, I also tour Santa Monica College, where actor James Dean attended in 1949 and 1950. It’s across the street from Woodlawn Memorial Park.
Thanks for joining me on my travels on yet another trip to the past, down memory lane.
