NORWEGIAN CRUISE LINES ENGAGES GOLDMAN SACHS TO RAISE ADDITIONAL CASH Goldman Sachs has been hired by Norwegian Cruise Lines to raise additional cash for the company. Norwegian raised about $1.5 billion last month by borrowing against their ships to give the company enough cash to wait out a shutdown expected to last about 90 days. Now it seems that the company wants to raise more cash to survive a shutdown of up to 1 year. The company may have to pay a very high interest rate on any bonds they may want to issue as Carnival just closed a bond offering where they agreed to pay 12% interest for $4 billion. Norwegian maybe a takeover candidate as there are 213 million shares outstanding now and upwards of 200 million shares may need to be issued to raise sufficient cash for the company. This would dilute the present shareholders to a minority control position. #norwegiancruiselines #oceaniacruiseline #travellingwithbruce
