I had an amazing foodie adventure in Japan exploring areas known for their food and food products. One place I visited was Tokachi, which is in an area on the island of Hokkaido. It’s known for having special water which filters through the volcanic soil. The water is consumed by the cows and pigs there creating some special meat and dairy products. It’s known as the dairy capital of Japan and produces a majority of the country’s cheese.

In Tokachi, we visited a cheese factory and had a chance to taste some of the area’s specialty cheeses.
