Kicking off season 2 of our Working Remote series, this time from Japan.
The Plan: Head to Japan and stay in an Airbnb located in the Ikebukuro neighbourhood of Tokyo. Split our time between working for our jobs remotely while exploring the sights of Tokyo.
The Problem: The largest typhoon of the season is headed straight for Japan and expected to hit the day after our arrival. And as the forecast became more accurate it was clear the path of the storm would not only pass right through Tokyo, but right through our neighbourhood. If the storm’s speed started to increase and it made landfall early that could pose a big problem for our travel plans, potentially stranding us in Taiwan as we were flying with EVA Air.
Check out Episode 1 and travel with us to Japan as we raced the typhoon to our new home away from home in Tokyo.

We’d recommend the Airbnb unit that we stayed in. It is clean, comfortable and has all the amenities needed. It is also located in a great neighbourhood with lots restaurants and shops very close by, along with 2 train stations 5-10 minutes away by foot. Best part is the host who is helpful and courteous and genuinely wanted to make sure we enjoyed our stay in her unit.
