One of the most known Istanbul landmarks, if not the most important, is Ayasofya museum. It is one of the most visited cites in the world built by the Byzantines with a dome that was the largest in the world for over a millennium. The Ottomans used it a mosque for centuries and for the last few decades it is turned to a magnificent museum.
