UNESCO WORLD HERITAGE – Matheran Hill Railway Train Journey – Spectacular Sights & Sounds !!

On 23/08/2015, I decided to a 3km long journey from Aman Lodge to Matheran. With the help of twin diesels, we accelerate quickly from Aman Lodge, Smoke heavily through the lovely rain forests, curves with a short coverage of Tourists, Horses and we terminate at Matheran station in style. Everyone is interested in capturing the Narrow Guage Train and taking Selfies too. No restrictions on photography as almost all are tourists here.

In monsoon, Neral – Matheran Narrow Guage line is closed in monsoon. Earlier no train used to run in monsoon but from 23/09/2012, Aman Lodge – Matheran line (3kms) was opened to public and in first 10 days, 11,500 tourists travelled in this train. The Ng train takes 10-12mins from Matheran – Aman Lodge – Matheran, terminating and departing from these stations in 5/10mins.
