I wanted to hike Mt. Hiko in Fukuoka today, but the weather there was rainy. I found a nice little mountain called Onigajyou (鬼ヶ城) in Yamaguchi where the weather was better. The name is intriguing because it means “demon castle.” Unfortunately, I didn’t see any demons. lol. I was a little bit bummed out because I had my heart set out on hiking Hiko Mountain. Onigajyou has a beautiful stream that runs along the hiking path. I found some fresh animal tracks as well, but I couldn’t find what they belonged to. There weren’t many attractions with this hike except the river and two bells at the top of the mountain. Not extremely exciting, but it has a nice view at the top.
