Leaving Meghan’s Brooklyn apartment, walls covered with recent haircut art, Michael and Meghan whisper goodbye to houseguest, Dejan (pronounded DAY-yan), and head out for Newark airport. The flight does not disappoint.
Not caught on camera: our seatmate who we strike up a conversation with right before landing, who makes an appearance later in the series, and, who, a year later becomes Meghan’s roommate in Brooklyn and is now a long-standing, beloved friend of the entire family.

OUR STORY
PROJECT NIHON / sustainable art travel… started as an experimental art and film project by a sister and brother collaborative team, exploring what happens when art and travel become mutually intertwined.
Meghan Keane and Michael Keane went to Japan in spring 2010. For 25 days, Meghan made art and Michael filmed the process β all while traveling around at a pace of 1-3 cities a day.
Upon return to Tokyo, Project Nihon had a 3 day pop-up exhibition.
On the last day, the work was given away to visitors in a de-installation ceremony, as a THANK YOU to Japan for inspiring the body of work.
Follow our journey here and connect with us anywhere on social.
Thank you π Arigato gozaimashita γγγγ¨γγγγγΎγγ
