This year my daughter and I took a trip for 10 days to Japan. It was a non-stop, culture and tummy filled adventure with caffeine kicks in between kind of trip. It was really tiring but fun as hell!

HERE’S Day 5 of our Japan adventure!
We’re now halfway through our Japan videos.

Destination…TOKYO! First time riding the shinkansen and it was every bit as I had expected it to be. Clean, fast, and efficient! It was on time, I thought they were kidding. We only had minutes to board then we were off. What I didn’t expect was the silence. It was unusually quiet. Not only was the engine super quiet, even the passengers were. What’s weird was we followed suit. We were quiet too. Giggling quietly, moving quietly and eating quietly. We get it. I guess Japanese people are just too polite to disturb the silence. And we respect this too.

And oh, we saw Mt. Fuji!

In Tokyo, we had dinner at this place that serves katsu but uses beef. We don’t have this in Manila so I made a mental note not to miss the chance to eat there. We shopped a bit because MG was running out of clothes plus I bought shirts for my other kid.

We had coffee at this famous American coffee roaster. Coffee was good but I still prefer Kyoto’s cafes and kinda miss these cafes’ more personalized service. The latte art was sloppy. Not that it matters but in Kyoto and Osaka, the baristas are the owners and they want and do everything perfect. You can be sure you’re getting a good cup of Joe each and every time!

Anyway, Day 6 would be jampacked with activities as it’s technically our first full day in Tokyo.

Stay tuned!
