10 facts for Japan ski trip
Japan is high up on the bucket list for so many of us, and for good
reason. It is a country that embraces both tradition and incredible
modernism at the same time.
1. Perfect for beginners
The thing with Japan is, it snows more than any other country in the
world. This means the softest slopes you can possibly imagine. For
beginners, it's much easier to learn than on hard ice. And if you fall,
trust me it will be a soft landing.
2. Heaven for experts
You probably guessed this one. If Japan has that much snow, it's not
only for beginners. True powder hounds would definitely enjoy in
Japan snowfields. Japan has many famous snow resorts that are
breathtaking and aspiring for location , quality of snow and
temperament.
3. Night skiing
Japan snow sports can be enjoyed in night time also. Lifts in Japan
open at 9am and don't close until 9pm. Plenty of time to ski every day
and the last 3 hours the slopes are filled by bright electric light. Skiing
deep Japanese powder at night is as close you get to being in a
dream!
4. Rental gears are available- if you’d prefer to leave your gear behind
you can expect new and adequate snowboard rental equipment at
most ski resorts in Japan. The cost is bit high at some snowfields but
then it is your choice if you wish to bring them from your home.
5. Say No to elevation sickness-Most resort base areas are located
between 800 and 1,800 feet above sea level and rise to a top
elevation of about 4,000 feet, so you won’t have to worry about
elevation sickness in Japan. Japan snowfields are amazing and have
option to choose from beginner field to expert adventurous slopes.
6. Tree skiing-If tree skiing in Japan is high on your list, make sure you
check beforehand that the resort allows it. Most of the snowfields
allow tree skiing.
Every year, more than 50 people are lost in tree skiing; hence though
this is adventurous, it is risky too.

7. Japan is a cash country-While you can pay with a credit card at
some restaurants and stores, many places just don’t take credit cards,
and ATM’s can be hard to find. Make sure to get cash for your trip.
8. Driving with international license- You’re going to need a AAA
international driver’s license if you intend on driving in Japan. The
Japanese drive on the left side and are generally slow drivers.
However, driving to reach snowfields in peak season may be risky if
snowfall is high and if you are not used to driving in this season.
9. Cultural experience- A Japan ski trip is not just about the snow, it’s also a
great cultural experience where you can see the bright lights of a great
modern city like Tokyo and then also sample different and authentic
traditions in one holiday. Wherever, you are you will find plenty of pagodas
and cultural heritage to choose from.
10. Beauty by the Street- Japan ski trip can also be beautiful romantic trip as
there is beauty everywhere in the street and around you. Beautiful pine
trees are covered with snowflakes and they look so picturese that you
cannot stop to admire them. Sipping a cup of coffee with your partner can
be a memorable event of the ski trip.
