Snow Monkeys:
The Snow Monkeys are monkeys who discovered years ago that bathing in an #Onsen is nice. Since then the monkeys come to the Onsen very often. It is a sight to see the monkeys soaking. It is just a nature reserve. The monkeys can therefore voluntarily enter and exit the Onsen. The last 6 days, since the typhoon #hagibis, no monkey has been seen. A few were spotted this morning. The question is whether the group has really returned. At the ticket sales counter (for monkeys it’s free, but people have to pay) they said the monkeys aren’t there now. While we were discussing whether or not to enter, it was reported that a park ranger had said that the monkeys had moved further into the forest.
We were surprised by one monkey who came by. This turned out to be a loner who did not belong to the group.

With one ticked monkey we walked along the river to the #Ryokan, where our luggage had been dropped off by the taxis. The beautiful route showed some traces of abundant water that has flowed through it in recent days. They had a lot of rain from the typhoon Hagibis here. There has been no extreme wind. On many places steam came out of the ground. There are many hot springs here.
