In this video, I take a short trip to Japan’s most beautiful train rides, in Shizuoka prefecture. Okuoikojo station runs through the deep forest across a beautiful turquoise lake and makes a perfect day trip from Tokyo. Below you can also see each step on how to get to this spot. Hope you enjoy this short trip!

From Tokyo, either take the Shinkansen to Shizuoka and change to the Tokaido local train to Kanaya Station. If you want to do the local, cheap route, take the local train first to Atami, then to Shizuoka and then to Kanaya. In Kanaya, change to the Oigawa Railway and ride until the final stop. There, change trains once again until you reach Okuoikojo Station (buying a 2 day pass for 4,900 Yen is recommended as it makes the journey cheaper and easier).
