This was one of the most interesting aspects of travelling for 2 weeks through Japan. Day 1 mid December 2019 Tokyo to Kyoto was dynamic, long hours, as we used the cheapest tickets ever, and used local and rapid trains, which most of the tourist not tend to do, but pay for Shinkansen, so their head doesn`t hurt, or not to spend to much of their time… Since we had lots of time, we decided to invest it into getting cheaper version of the trip… Local trains are fast, but the only thing that is consuming is making a map and taking several stations at the time, and going from one to another JR lines to arrive to your final destination, in our it was Kyoto!:)
