The day after my ordeal with the typhoon was sunny and calm. I took this opportunity to head to Miho no Matsubara (pine grove on the Miho peninsula) for a walk along the beach. On this black, sandy beach I found the kind of view of Mt. Fuji that I had been looking for the previous day. With barely a cloud in the sky, the beautiful mountain stood against a blue backdrop that made me forget the storm that passed overnight.
From there I took the bullet train to Osaka to see the aquarium and its 2 whale sharks. I also visited the futuristic Umeda Sky Building before ultimately arriving in Kyoto for the evening.
