March 2020 – March is finally here and it won’t be long before summer. 2020 hasn’t really been a great year so far due to the virus outbreak, really hope the situation gets better soon. This month, I will be sharing my journey to Hokkaido, just for memories sake, and for everyone who would love to visit Hokkaido in the future. The footage is from my previous trip back in summer of 2019 (July). Hope Hokkaido would soon return to the calm, peaceful state as before.

The second stop of my journey is the countryside of Biei. Biei is a small town about 1 hour south of Asahikawa by train. The town is surrounded by a picturesque landscape of gently rolling hills and vast fields and flower farms. A pleasant way to enjoy the trip to Biei in summer is by cycling. So in this video I will present 2 cycling routes that you will often only find out when you arrive at the local bike shop. The 1st route originates in Biei Station and covers the northern part of Biei featuring the Patchwork Road and Zerubu Hill. The 2nd route originates from Bibaushi Station and covers Shikisai no Oka, Shinei no Oka Observatory Park and Lone Christmas Tree.

Cycling to Shirogane Blue Pond is not recommended as there is a faster and more efficient way by taking the Dohoku local bus at Biei Station, the trip takes about 30 minutes and 540 yen one way. More information here:

Still travelling film series document my journey to different parts of Japan. They portray my minimalist, laid-back approach to travel. The film consists of mostly moving stills. There are minimal camera movements and editing, no talking, just pure visuals, bgm and ambience sound that focus on the broader landscape, mundane happenings and small details that amazed me along the way. If you like what I do please consider checking out my IG and subscribe. Cheers!
