About Tokyo Gate Bridge
The design fulfils the requirement to be high enough to allow large ships to pass underneath, but low enough not to interfere with air traffic to the nearby Haneda Airport. It is a double cantilever bridge, which means that the truss sections from either side can be completed in balance, and then joined by the addition of the relatively short central span. The resemblance of the bridge to two monsters facing off has given it the nickname of ‘Dinosaur Bridge’ (恐竜橋, Kyōryū-bashi).

About Kachidoki Station
Kachidoki Station (勝どき駅, Kachidoki eki) is a subway station on the Toei Oedo Line in Chūō, Tokyo, Japan, operated by the Tokyo subway operator Tokyo Metropolitan Bureau of Transportation.

About Kachidoki Bridge 勝鬨橋
A walk across the Kachidoki Bridge is a chance to view Japanese technology and ingenuity up close. It is the last of the 27 bridges that span the Sumida River before it reaches Tokyo Bay. Featuring a double-leaf bascule mechanism that raised its sides to allow ships through when freight was mainly transported by boat, the bridge opened in 1940, but had the spans permanently shuttered for road traffic in 1970.

Visitors can view the electric generators that helped open and power the bridge, as well as other bridge paraphernalia at the nearby Kachidoki Bridge Museum. Located near the Tsukiji Fish Market, an excursion to the bridge and museum is a pleasant way to round out a morning in the area.
