The new line to Hashimoto. I was bouncing around Japan for three week in April 2005. I showed up in Fukuoka and had the good fortune to stumble upon this new line just 5 weeks after its inauguration. This fully underground, linear induction line is probably the finest subway line on the planet today. Up there with the Jubilee in London. This line could easily have been made driverless at great saving in operating expense. Yet the attendant is there to give reassurance and public information material to eager young railfans, as you will see.
