In the sacred forest of Kashima-jingu #Shrine, the perennial spring creates this amazingly clear pond called “Mitarashi-no-Ike” where the purification ceremony is performed every January. Having the deity of sword enshrined, the ancient martial art of “Kashima-Shinryu” was first taught here in 7th century, and the heritage has been handed down to this day.
