The Death Of A Funeral Home – Southern Funeral Home in Saint Louis, Mo.

The Southern Funeral Home was built-in 1929, designed by architects
George Kennerly and Oliver Steigemeyer. It was a Spanish Colonial
Revival style funeral home. The building was going to be saved and
added to The National Register of Historic Places but the city had
other plans to rehab and extend the Parkside Apartments next door.

The plans were to make the Southern Funeral Home grounds a parking lot,
at one point they even considered putting some kind of restaurant in its place or Dollar General Store.

After Tony and I explored the abandoned Funeral Home the very next day it was demolished. Now sit back and relax while you embark on a photographic journey into the last exploration of The Southern Funeral Home.

If you are into photography and historic places you are going to enjoy this one because it’s a different kind of slideshow than I normally do. I used a Canon 5d mark 3 for all the photography.
