Takachicho has two important sights: the Amahi Uwati Shrine and cave of the Sun God and Takachicho Gorge. Takachiho is considered to be a “power spot” – a place of religious important and natural beauty which radiates spiritual energy. Mmm, perhaps. I won’t argue with the natural beauty since the cave is situated along rushing river in a gorgeous setting.

The town of Takachicho sits on Takachicho Gorge, an impressive ravine with many waterfalls and strange rock formations. There are many other sights that really don’t mean much to a non-Japanese tourist.

Don’t you love my ice cream cone at the end? An explosion of little colored globes?
