Juhyo (the frost-covered trees) of Zao is a popular spot a seasonal charming sight in winter.

Juhyo is formed when water droplets in snow clouds stick to Aomori white fir trees which grow on the mountains in Zao.
Juhyo starts growing around every December, and the growth reaches its peak in February.
Since the appearance of large-mature Juhyo looks just like a monster, it is called “Snow Monsters”.
Without skiing or snowboarding, you can enjoy seeing Juhyo by aerial walk with an altitude difference of 806 meters from Zao Sanroku Station to Jizo Sancho Station.
You can stroll around Jizo Sancho Station and take a close look at Juhyo.
In addition, from the observatory on Jizo Sancho Station, you can enjoy a magnificent panoramic view of Juhyo field spreading to 360 degrees.
