▼About the Aramatsuri Festival of Yaizu-jinja Shrine (Quoted from the official site)
The grand festival of Yaizu Shrine, held every year on August 12 and 13, is known as “Tokai Ichi-no-Aramatsuri” and is one of the festivals Yaizu people look forward to.
The mikoshi, which has been polished and repaired for more than 1 month before the festival and then fixed by the omawashi, leaves the shrine at 10 AM with a unique shout “Anetton”, stops at 4 otabisho in Yaizu City and returns to the shrine at around 11 PM. The total distance of Mikoshi togyo is about 6.5 km.
One of the highlights of the Aramatsuri is, above all, the brave and dynamic Mikoshi togyo (matrix), which is performed to welcome the enshrined deity, who is usually enshrined in the main shrine, to each town in order to perform the festival.
