Thanks for checking out my solo mountain backpacking trip to Strathcona Provincial Park on Vancouver Island in BC.

This 3 day 2 night backpacking trip was from 2017. Me and my dog did a loop to Circlet Lake, a beautiful alpine lake underneath a mountain ridge in the Vancouver Island Mountain Rage.

One of the easiest ways to explore Strathcona Provincial Park is via the Paradise Meadows trailhead near the small town of Courtenay. From here, there is a 2km accessible, mostly flat loop around mountain meadows.
Further mountain trails lead into the backcountry from here.

One of these goes to Circlet Lake, a beautiful alpine lake tucked away in a mountain ridge.

Circlet provides a clean alpine lake to swim in, fairly easy backpacking with lots of views of mountains, other alpine lakes, meadows, wildlife, and forests. Campsites on shoreline of Circlet Lake with bathrooms, bear caches, and campsites with wooden platforms for tents.
