Traveling in winter in Hokkaido can get a lot of snow higher than the houses especially in the north. Traveling in winter have more chances of getting caught in a snow storm. On March 1st, we got stranded in Sapporo during a blizzard that made us stay another day in Sapporo and cancelled our next travel stop in Niko. We took the first train out of Sapporo. The train was bound for Hakodate where we catch the Shinkansen bound for Tokyo. However, halfway in our travel, the train could not move on and we were all transferred to buses. It was late in the evening when we arrived in Hakodate. No Shinkansen travelling anymore. A nice Japanese woman sitting behind us on the train offered us a room in her house. She taught us to make our futon bed, served us Japanese home cook meals and drove us to the station to catch our train. Friendship was formed. We felt blessed. The video is all about this. Going out of Hokkaido during a blizzard can be very eventful.
