神の神社、神島神社
神島神社社殿の奥には、古来より「おえいし」と呼ばれている巨石がそびえたっています。頂上までの高さ24メートル、両柱の端から端までの幅 12メートル、頂上テーブルの広さ5メートル×3メートルというとても大きなものです。
全てがミラクルな島
野崎島へ
一般的には五島列島に含められることが多いが、長崎県では小値賀島も含めて平戸諸島の一部としている。
島は南北6㎞、東西1.6㎞で南北に細長く中央部がくびれた形となっている。
島の多くが急峻な山地であり、平地は島の中央部に僅かに存在するのみである。
携帯もろくに通じないこの島で、何もすることがない贅沢。

The Remains of Villages on Nozaki Island are one of the four components demonstrating to which locations the Hidden Christians migrated to maintain their religious communities. Before some of the Hidden Christians from Sotome migrated to Nozaki Island, the island’s only inhabitants were Shinto priests of Okinokojima Shrine and their followers. The migrants selected the island so that they could maintain their religious communities in secret while affiliating themselves with the Shinto shrine and outwardly behaving as its followers to camouflage their inner faith. The Hidden Christians on the island rejoined the Catholic Church after the lifting of the ban on Christianity and constructed new churches in two Christian villages in the central part and the southern part of the island, marking the end of the Hidden Christians’ hiding.
