What a whirlwind trip we had in Yokohama and Tokyo! Japan was the first stop of our next big travel stint for 2020.

Our original super early morning Jetstar flight was delayed which meant we wouldn’t have been able to catch our connecting flight and make it to Tokyo before their airport post shop closed down. That would’ve been problematic for us since we had pre-ordered mobile sim cards to pick up there and they don’t offer refunds or transfers so it would’ve been a big hassle to travel all the way back to the airport the next day. Thankfully we got shifted to earlier Qantas flights and it all worked out in the end.

Whenever we go to Japan we get our sim cards from bmobile visitor sim. Good packages and a reliable service:

We weren’t originally planning on leaving New Zealand so soon because we wanted to enjoy summer in NZ but our good mate Shinji was set to have his wedding late January in Yokohama so of course we couldn’t miss his big day and off to Japan we went! πŸ™‚

Shinji together with his lovely wife Yoko set us up with a few night’s accommodation at Shin Yokohama Prince Hotel just before and after the wedding which was conveniently located super close to their wedding venue (Heart Court Yokohama).

Shinji & Yoko, if you’re watching this video or reading this description, we couldn’t be happier for you both! Thanks for letting us share some photos from your big day and a huge congrats once again 😊❀️

After all the wedding festivities we moved to Shinigawa to be a bit closer to central Tokyo for the remainder of our time in Japan.

While we were in Tokyo, we got to meet up with one of our longest time supporters and favourite YouTube friends, Sundai Love and her Kiwi friend Ash too. We absolutely love Sundai! She has such a mega awesome personality, she’s very talented and just an all round amazing person.

Check out Sundai’s channel ❀️

Sundai took us to her favourite fried chicken wings place in Kawasaki Tokyo called Yamachan. It was soo delicious!

Of course when in Tokyo, you’ve got to visit Harajuku, Shibuya, Shinjuku and all those super cool spots. We visited a shiba cafe for the very first time and it was cuteness overload.

Our friend Dru decided to prioritise shopping over going to teamLab due to his limited time in Tokyo so thanks to him we scored ourselves the tickets he booked for this place (thanks again Dru!). TeamLab is located in Odaiba, Tokyo and it’s essentially an interactive light museum.

We’re not big fans of the cold so chose to stay in Japan for only a very short trip since it was winter then but regardless, we had a blast! We have one more video we made during our time in Tokyo which will be out next week, so hope you like it. No doubt we’ll be back to Japan again in the future – but when it’s warmer weather!

If you’re enjoying our videos please remember to hit that thumbs up and leave us a comment, we really enjoy hearing from our viewers πŸ™‚ Plus if you’re new to our channel, we hope you’ll subscribe and turn on notifications so you can stay up to date with all our latest videos each week. We post a new video every Sunday 11.30am NZT with the occasional midweek bonus πŸ˜‰

Thank you πŸ˜€
