The Akita Nairiku Line is a 94 km-long (58 mi.) local train line that runs north-south in the inland mountains of Akita prefecture. Take a peek at the local country life during your trip.

In the spring, you can look forward to a tour of blooming flowers along the way. You’ll see sakura (cherry blossoms), katakuri (Asian fawnlilies) and suisen (daffodils). In summer, you’ll be amazed at the artistic rice fields from your train window. During the fall, you’ll travel through the scenic mountains of Akita as they’re seemingly painted with autumnal colors. In wintertime, stave off the chill of the snowy countryside at the onsen inside of Animaeda Station!
