We are lucky to observe how the masks of the Namahage Demon Gods 👹 are made, as well as the rice-straw overcoats and other insight into their costumes. A local grand master is one of the few to know how, and the masks carved in wood are actually not heavy and have relatively good visibility. The shoes are cool too and so very comfortable. The Namahage have a big 🔪 knife or a Shinto thunder paper wand in their hands when they walk around, as proof that they are Godly good Demons. There are 80 places in Oga peninsula where Namahage tradition goes on and so many mask styles like we can see in the museum of Shinzan Shrine.
