Pali Highway Closed Except for Afternoon Drive Home to Kailua 6/14/2019. IT IS NOW OPEN LIKE NORMAL. We take a drive through the Nu’uanu Pali Tunnels which is now closed except when they open one side for going to work going in to town (Honolulu) and going home traffic going back to Kailua. Today we begin our drive in town on Kapiolani Blvd. We make our way on the Lunalilo Freeway, then to Pali Highway, Kalaniana’ole Highway, and Kailua Road. We drive through Kailua town and make our way to Lanikai using S. Kalaheo Ave. Enjoy!
