Rosenthaler Platz is now a favourite spot for many Berliners with hip bars as well as long-established pubs. In the nineties, many kebab shops were found here, there was established a more diverse café, restaurant, and bar scene.

Auguststraße became home to a number of galleries after the fall of the Berlin Wall. A number of trendy restaurants have also opened recently. Auguststraße has an almost Mediterranean charm. The many cafés set up tables and chairs on their terraces and the stylish old buildings create a relaxed atmosphere.
