三重県桑名市の桑名駅東口と直結した桑栄メイトこと「桑栄ビル」の中を歩いてきました。1973年(昭和48年)より営業が開始された桑栄ビルは地上6階地下1階の複合商業ビル。老朽化の進みが著しい建物のため解体や建替が検討されていますので行かれる方はお早めに。 ★寂しい街、商店街を歩くシリーズ ►

私は下町生まれの下町育ちで親が商店を営んでいた事もあり、小さい頃の遊び場は市場や商店街でした。大型モールや少子高齢化により私の小さな頃と今とではかなり変わってしまいましたが今でも私は商店街が好きです。そして昭和の匂いのする街が大好きです。
栄枯盛衰、商店街は全国的にいわゆるシャッター街が増えておりこのままでは廃墟化してしまうかもしれません。ガラッと変わるのは好きではありませんが静かなる復活を期待しつつ残されている街を自分の目で確かめアーカイブしておきたくなり動画を撮影・アップしました。
