The Japanese Countryside: Watching Cranes in Hokkaido | 北海道のタンチョウ

I lived in Hokkaido for two years. From time to time, when I was driving, I would see a field full of red crowned cranes. This is some raw footage from one of those drives near Tsuri Village. These birds were nearly extinct in Japan, but a few were found in the wetlands near Kushiro, Hokkaido. Due to conservation efforts, these beautiful birds can be seen throughout eastern Hokkaido.
