Villa Aneyakoji is a small boutique hotel with 6 rooms in Kyoto Japan. We really enjoyed our stay at Villa Aneyakoji as they provided an experience unique from the large hotels in Kyoto.
The premium room at Villa Aneyakoji is on the top floor of the hotel and has its own roof deck with views of Kyoto.
The room itself was average sized for Japan and had sufficient space for two adults. The beds were a little on the small side and rather stiff. I would have much preferred a single queen sized bed instead of two smaller ones, but this configuration is very common in Kyoto. If you need a soft mattress this might not be the place for you.
The bathroom was extremely modern and fun. I particularly liked the shower, which is separate from the tub.
While staying at Villa Aneyakoji we received breakfast every morning in our room. It was western style and very generous. If it was a little warmer we would have had our breakfast delivered to the roof deck adjacent to our room.
The staff at Villa Aneyakoji were absolutely amazing. They spoke very good English and were able to help us find our way around the city. When we decided to take a cab to wherever we were headed they called one for us and then made sure the driver knew exactly where we were going and how much it should cost. They were an excellent resource during our stay in Kyoto.
Bottom line, Villa Aneyakoji is a unique and centrally located hotel in Kyoto. The staff was excellent and the accommodations were clean and comfortable. The only downside we noticed were the stiffer than average beds, but we were so tired from exploring Kyoto this mattered very little to us. We would definitely stay there again.
