We changed our plans last minute, as usual, and took a bus from Arequipa to Cabanaconde where we spent our Christmas in Peru. Absolutely fantastic place. This super remote Peruvian village in the Andes called Cabanaconde was probably the best decision we could ever make. Spending Chrismas here with locals and not too many tourists is exactly want we needed.
This video was filmed very early in the morning that why I (Kristyna) was still sleeping. But Merry Christmas guys with a bit of delay. We hope you all had a great time.
Why Cabanaconde should be on your list while visiting Peru?
– it is less touristy than Chivay – both very good locations to start your treks for Colca Canyon
– it is high in the mountains and the weather is more agreeable than in a big city like Arequipa
– people very friendly and there are so many lovely street dogs
