屋久島の白谷雲水峡は、宮崎駿監督によるスタジオジブリ映画「もののけ姫」の深い原始の森のモデルとなりました。
宮崎駿監督、スタジオジブリのスタッフがロケハンで通った場所です。
以前は“もののけ姫の森”と称していましたが、現在は“苔むす森”と呼ばれています。

In Yakushima-island, the mountain is high,a lot of rain,spreads green deep forest.
Shiratani Unsuikyo is particularly forest green is beautiful.
