高千穂峰｜TAKACHIHO NO MINE｜宮崎県高原町

高千穂峰は、宮崎県と鹿児島県の県境に位置する火山。標高は1,574 mで、霧島連峰の第二峰。日本二百名山の一つである。
天照大神の孫であるニニギノミコトが、葦原中国の統治のために降臨（天孫降臨）した山であるとされ、『紀元節の歌』にも「雲に聳ゆる 高千穂の」と愛唱された。なお、天孫降臨の地を宮崎県北部の高千穂町域に比定する説もある。

Takachiho-no-mine is a volcano located on the prefectural border between Miyazaki and Kagoshima prefectures. At an altitude of 1,574 m, it is the second peak of the Kirishima Mountain Range. It is one of the 200 famous mountains in Japan.
It is said that Ninigino Mikoto, the grandson of Amaterasu Okami, descended for the reign of China in the reeds of China. There is also a theory that the land of the descendant of Tenson is determined in the Takachiho area in northern Miyazaki Prefecture.
