A Tour of BC Ferries’ Skeena Queen. Built in 1996 by Allied Shipyards in Vancouver, originally she was going to be the first of three Century Class Vessels, however, plans for the latter 2 vessels fell through. In her early years of service she was plagued with engine trouble. This resulted in multiple repairs and replacement of her engines. This trouble was finally put right in 2002 after her original high-speed engines were replaced with medium-speed engines. Since entering service in 1997, she has operated on Route 4 between Fulford Harbour and Swartz Bay and continues to this day on the same route.
