This is a video shot of Bell Ringing on New Year’s Eve at Chion-in Temple, the most famous in Japan.
On the New Year’s Eve, 17 Buddhist monks unite their hearts and ring the bell one by one under the shouts of “Ei Hitotsu” and “Sore”.
The number of bells is 108, the number of desires we have.
It is an event in order to get rid of all evil desires of one year and welcome a new year with a pure heart.
In a harsh atmosphere, Bell Ringing progress while praying for the extinction of sins and the peace of the world.
At around 0:20 am, the last 108th bell is rung.
This is a video shot with 4K images quality shooting with SONY FDR-AX60 spatial optical image stabilization and ZHIYUN WEEBILL S stabilizer.
There is no extra audio or BGM in this video.

令和初、NHKゆく年くる年でおなじみの知恩院の除夜の鐘撞きの様子の撮影です。
大晦日に「えーいひとーつ」「そーれ」の掛け声のもと、17人の僧侶が心を合わせて一打一打鐘を打ち鳴らします。
鐘をつく数は我々がもつ煩悩の数、108回。
一年間の煩悩を払い、清らかな心で新しい年を迎える行事です。
厳かな雰囲気の中、罪障消滅と世の安穏を祈りながら鐘撞きは進行していきます。
午前0時20分頃に最後の108回目の鐘が撞かれ、鐘撞きが終わります。
