大宮駅で唯一地下ホームに乗り入れるJR埼京線・川越線(東京臨海高速鉄道りんかい線直通含む)。当駅は、東北・上越新幹線の高架線建設の見返りとして「通勤新線」として開業した埼京線の終着駅であり、埼京線と直通運転を行う川越線の始発駅でもあります。そんな埼京線・川越線の列車を13本撮影しました。

The only underground platforms of Omiya station is used for trains on the JR Saikyo line and Kawagoe line (including trains linked directly to the TWR Rinkai line). Omiya station is a terminal of Saikyo line, which opend as a “new commuter railway line” in return for the construction of Shinkansen elevated tracks. Here is also an originating station of Kawagoe line, which connects directly to the Saikyo line. I took * Saikyo and Kawagoe line trains arriving and departing here.
