Right off Monorail Asato station, about 2 minutes walking, there is a retro market place called Sakaemachi-ichiba Market. Many markets were formed after the Battle of Okinawa. 生活に必需品から地元の人々が集う食堂、この地域周辺には居酒屋も多く、市場では様々なお店が出店されています。栄町市場は地域の台所として利用されていて、活気がありながらも沖縄らしいゆったりした空気感が魅力。
大きい市場ではありませんが、脇道が多く入り組んでいるアーケード街はまるで迷路のよう。レトロでどこか懐かしい、そんな栄町市場にぜひ訪れてみてください。
